Early Years 

Rohan’s culinary training began at a young age cooking alongside his mother in Queens, New York. The influences of her native country, Sri Lanka, coupled with the diverse cuisine of the city made a mark on the young chef.

Under Chef Pascal Dionot at L’Academie de Cuisine in Maryland, Rohan first learned French technique. He served as Sous Chef under Executive Chef Paul Ingenito at Mansion on ‘O’ Street in Washington, DC. Here, Rohan was honored to prepare meals for President Bill Clinton and Rosa Parks, among others.

Europe and New York 

Rohan attended Le Cordon Bleu (London & Paris) where he received a Diploma de Cuisine for Superior and Advanced Studies. He completed a Stage under Dominique Bouchet at the Hotel de Crillion.

In 2001, Rohan returned to New York and worked under David Burke and Scott Ubert at the Plaza Hotel’s ONE CPS. He cooked at Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s Michelin stared restaurant, Jean-Georges. While in NYC, Rohan also cooked at the Nicole Farhi boutique restaurant, the Hudson Hotel and Sotheby’s auction house.

California 

In 2003, Rohan moved to Los Angeles. He brought his experience to bear as a private chef to film directors Jessy Terrero and Chris Robinson, as well as actors Adam Rodriguez, Mekhi Phifer, and Kevin Connolly.

On film locations, Rohan has catered for talent including Kevin Hart, Sofia Vergara, Tom Arnold, among many others. Rohan is a chef instructor at the Chefmakers Cooking Academy. He was also Executive Chef of Chef’s Diet, a gourmet spa cuisine delivery service in Los Angeles.
